Lego Mindstorms NXT
Build your own mini robot.

Would you like to design your very own robot that functions as you wish and reacts to the environment? This may be the easy way around.
The robot in the picture above is called Alpha Rex, one of the pre-designed robots in the Lego Mindstorms NXT package.
There are many sensors available to enhance your robots which are connected to the central control unit including a sound receiver, ultrasonic sound sensor and distance-meter.
NXT can recognize where it is at and where it should move. Comes with PC / Mac compatible software which allows you to program the behaviour of your bot.
Below is the rest of pre-designed robots. These are intended to give newbies a go and you’re of course not limited with these designs.
Tribot can recognize, hold and push objects. It can help you grabbing your drink.
Robo Arm can recognize objects in different colors and organize them.
That’s the aggro one. Spike grabs anything around that moves or makes noise.

Line6 Variax. The future of the guitars!

Line-6 Variax can be simply defined as an entire guitar collection in a single instrument. Technically, it’s called a “modelling guitar” which reproduce 25 of the best sounding instruments in the guitar history which were carefully researched and their souls are captured in a single guitar body. Nice, isn’t it?
The legend guitar sounds include:
- 1959 Fender Stratocaster
- 1960 Fender Telecaster Custom
- 1968 Fender Telecaster
- 1968 Fender Telecaster Thinline
- 1952 Gibson Les Paul “Goldtop”
- 1953 Gibson Super 400
- 1955 Gibson Les Paul Special
- 1956 Gibson Les Paul Junior
- 1957 Gibson ES-175
- 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard
- 1961 Gibson ES-335
- 1961 Gibson Les Paul Custom (3 PU)
- 1976 Gibson Firebird V
- 1995 Gibson J-200
- 1956 Gretsch Silver Jet
- 1959 Gretsch 6120
- 1966 Rickenbacker 360-12
- 1968 Rickenbacker 360
- 1967 Epiphone Casino
- 1959 Martin D-28
- 1967 Martin O-18
- 1970 Martin D 12-28
- 1966 Guild F212
- 1935 Dobro Alumilite
- Danelectro 3021
- Coral/Dano Electric Sitar
- Gibson Mastertone Banjo
- 1928 National Style 2 “Tricone”
It’s not over! You can even build your very custom guitar with the Variax Workbench software. Select different types of guitar bodies, choose pickups and their placement then tweak more to design unique guitar models. What feels great is being able to physically hold and play the virtual guitar you’ve just created on your computer.
Normally, you can’t expect a real acoustic guitar sound from an electric guitar but this thing just does it like magic. It has even a 12 string model sound built-in.
If you’re into guitars, you must certainly check this one out. The price is only a fraction of the cost of even only one of the guitars it simulates, but so much more fun awaits!

PowerBall Gyroscope

Take the Powerball in your hand, set the rotor in motion with the cord provided or use your finger when you get used to it and it will slowly gain speed as you keep shaking. No batteries, no motor, just pure gyroscopic power in the palm of your hand. A serious toy it is!
How forceful can it get? You may ask… If your hands & arms are strong enough to hold it long enough, the rotor will reach an unbelievable 15,000 RPM! At which point it’s exerting about 18 kg (40lbs) of tremendous pressure on your limbs and travelling at approximately 250 revs per second.
You can keep track of your personal speed record on the digital counter. The world record is currently 16,317RPM.
The manufacturer rightly claims that this device can help in rehabilitation of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis, Repetitive Strain Injury and similar illness related to joints and arm muscles. It’s also used by athletes to develop physical strength and endurance.
