Intel Montevallo

Intel Montevallo

Intel’s concept laptop design Montevallo has similar hardware compared to other high-end line of notebooks. But this creatively designed flexible unit isn’t only a laptop. The screen and keyboard are detachable making it a semi-desktop computer. Also it can be used as a stand-alone LCD TV or mobile entertainment center.

We all like flexibility and it looks like we’ll see more products like Montevallo in the very near future. Intel will probably start shipping in 2007 and there will be two different versions including a 14″ as shown above and another 12″, smaller road-warrior model.

Philips GoGear SA1335

Philips GoGear SA 1335

Philips GoGear portable music player really shines with it’s pure black mirror surface. The two-colored display is hidden within the surface. Capable of storing hundreds of songs in it’s 1GB integrated memory in MP3 and WMA formats. 12 hours of battery life is also quite good.

Samsung YM-P1 Portable Media Player

Samsung YM-P1 Portable Media Player

You can carry and play back your music, photos and videos with this Portable Video Player anywhere you go. TXT files can also be viewed on the device.

  • Supported audio formats: MP3, AC3, WMA and OGG.
  • Compatible video formats: MPEG-4, AVI, DivX, XviD and WMV.
  • Image formats: JPEG and BMP images.
  • Battery life: 6 hours for video and 15 hours for audio.

We love such simple and functional designs. You can think otherwise but it’s not ugly at least. YM-P1 has a 4-inch wide screen display with 16 million-colors. The controls are on the right side and straight-forward. The speaker is on the left side which gets loud enough for the size. SD(Secure Digital) card slot allows for memory expansion. You can of course connect this player to a TV to view stored data.
Additional features: FM tuner, voice recording, video recording(by cable) and USB host that lets you connect your digital camera.
